The Swedish gaming developer Guru Games, from Skövde in Sweden, has been acquired by Gothenburg-based Thunderful Group AB.
Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Thunderful Group AB's Business Univers
Thunderful Group AB, which is also a Swedish company, already owns game developers Image & Form and Zoink, two successful veterans on the Swedish game development circuit.
The Group also includes Thunderful Publishing, with operations involving the publishing of games, and Thunderful Distribution, with operations in the distribution and sale of gaming consoles, games, gaming accessories and toys. This includes Bergsala AB, Amo Toys Nordic AB, and Nordic Game Supply AB.
Guiding Rules Games AB
Guru Games, Guiding Rules Games AB, was founded back in 2014 and run by CEO Daniel Ström.
The fourteen-man studio made SEK 2.6 million in sales during 2019.
Already having a close relationship with the people at Guru Games, Klaus Lyngeled, CCO at Thunderful, expresses his delight about the acquisition:
“Together with our new colleagues, we’ll create prototypes from strong game ideas, which means we’ll be able to develop games at a higher and more even cadence. The fact that we’ve known the folks at Guru Games for years, of course, helps a lot.”
We believe that information should be free and will therefore never put up a paywall.
